PROF. DR. EKMELEDDİN İHSANOĞLU AS A GUEST TO OUR CAREER CENTER

An online interview program has been organized by the Career Center of our University. Moderated by Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu Application and Research Center of History and Culture Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fidan,Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ and Director of our University Career Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sümeyra Gazel attended the online interview in which Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, an academician and diplomat, took part as a speaker.

Making statements before the program, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ stated his pleasure to to host Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, the son of the great scholar İhsan Efendi, who is an important value raised in Yozgat and he said: “İhsan Efendi is a great value for these lands. Of course, as the son of such a father, Prof. Dr.Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu has also been a great success through his life. Applying that family culture to his life, he has reached to very important points. The experience, knowledge and wisdom to be transferred by him will be very important to us. I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu to join our program.’’

Referring to his father İhsan Efendi from Yozgat, his days in Egypt and the stages he went through in his journey of knowledge, Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu summarized his life with the following sentences: “Servant of God, the son of a believing Yozgat family, belonging to the Turkish nation, with the permission of God Almighty, I am a person who devoted himself to religion and lived with these beliefs and instigation throughout his life and sacrificed his life for these ideals.''

Stating that he visited 90 countries during his duty as Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Prof. İhsanoğlu stated that he had academic connections with some of the countries he visited during this period, and stated that he observed that people serve both science and humanity. Stating that with the newly established modern universities, the concept and perspective of a university has also changed, Prof. İhsanoğlu pointed out that the universities of our country should also make an effort to be included in the international publication indexes in producing knowledge, which is the goal of education. Listing his recommendations for young people, Prof. İhsanoğlu concluded his words by stating that young people must learn a few languages, focus on a goal and manage the time given to them well.’’
