ÇEKEREK FUAT OKTAY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF HEALTH SERVICES RECEIVES “SIGN LANGUAGE” TRAINING
Within the scope of “Engel-Siziz (Disability Project)”, in order to ease the communication of people with hearing disabilities in social life, and to help them establish communication comfortably with people, our university organized a “Turkish Sign Language Training” for the academic members of Çekerek Fuat Oktay Vocational School of Health Services.
After the project aimed at helping people with hearing disabilities in their lives, academic members successfully completing the training were awarded a “sign language certificate”.
In the training given by Çekerek Public Training Center sign language teacher Cevahir Solmaz, all academic members of Çekerek Fuat Oktay Vocational School of Health Services were provided with the general features of sign language, introductory phrases, and daily language.
Acting Director of Çekerek Fuat Oktay Vocational School of Health Services Lecturer Tekin Güler stated that all academic members assigned at the vocational school can use the sign language. Stating that there are no students with hearing disabilities at the school for the time being but this does not mean that there will not be in the future, Güler said: “We received sign language training in order to help our students who will come to our school and to ensure that they receive a better education and become a part of the society. Considering the social side of this, we received sign language training in order to establish a stronger and healthier communication with people with hearing disabilities in our district and around us, and to remind them that they are a part of the society and to make them feel this.”21.10.2020 16:57
