Speaking at the training meeting, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ stated that Yozgat Bozok University has missions and responsibilities such as bringing all the biomass of industrial hemp, which is our area of specialization, to the economy and developing the region.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ continued his speech: “As part of our work, we established the Institute of Hemp Research. We started to train the scientists of the future by producing knowledge. By producing hemp-based prototype products and sharing them with the public, we enabled the industry to shift here. We met with important sector representatives and managed the processes of bringing hemp to the economy. In this sense, a road map has started to be drawn in our sector meetings. Tons of hemp will be needed for the factories to be built here by the industry to be sustainable. Today, within the scope of the "Industrial Hemp Training Project in the KOP Region" signed between our University and the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration, we are carrying out a study to inform the agricultural engineers working in the Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, the technical staff related to the hemp plant and our producers. We can say that as important as the processes of bringing the biomass of hemp to the economy are, we can say that the management of the cultivation processes of hemp, what should be considered in the cultivation processes, reproduction and improvement of local seeds are just as important. On this occasion, I would like to thank our University's Hemp Research Coordinator and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Güngör Yılmaz and his team, all the participants who have aims and expectations about hemp, and all the participants who attended this training here today, and Mahmut Sami Şahin, the Head of the Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration, for their support to the Industrial Hemp Training Project.”
