450 PIECES OF ADULT BREEDER GOOSE DISTRIBUTED TO 8 PRODUCERS FOR DOMESTIC GOOSE BREEDING
450 adult breeding geese were distributed to 8 producers with the ceremony organized within the scope of the "Yozgat Goose Breeding R&D Project" supported by the Yozgat Governorship Provincial Special Provincial Administration carried out by the Research Center of Agricultural Applications of our University and carried out in cooperation with the Yozgat Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
Within the scope of the "Yozgat Goose Breeding Project", it is aimed to increase the yield capacity of domestic breeding geese, establish breeder integration and development by the public.
Yozgat Governor Ziya Polat, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Güngör Yılmaz, Director of our University Research Center of Agricultural Applications Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Akif Boz and producers attended to the goose distribution ceremony.Yozgat Governor Ziya Polat stated that the local breed geese have been improved by Yozgat Bozok University and made them more productive.
Polat stated that they want to make Yozgat a brand city in goose production as well as agriculture and animal husbandry, and said, "Today, within the scope of the project prepared by our University, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and Special Administration, we distributed 75 geese, 25 males and 50 females to 8 producers. I hope 5 thousand geese will be produced from these geese next year.” Stating that the state should offer the opportunities to the nation, Polat said: "We need to go down to the field, we need to provide the state's facilities to support our farmers and producers. Goose is produced through academic studies at our university, but the main work will be done by producers. We want these geese to breed in the hands of the producers and contribute to the economy. We aim to make the city a goose center by increasing the production of local goose in Yozgat. I would like to thank all our institutions and academics who supported the project."
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ stated that the project has been going on for a long time and that 1.5 million Liras have been provided within the scope of Konya Plain Project (KOP). He said: "We are doing rehabilitation work to transfer the indigenous race to the future. The main purpose here is to provide economic contribution to the people of the region by bringing these values in addition to scientific work.
